Death, Dying and Purple Destruction?

Hi there! Long time no anything, huh? Man do I miss you guys. Like a lot. I miss posting, I miss reading *sigh* Just typing my school assignments is strenuous enough, so blogging has to go on the very back burner. I still manage to tweet, though. And I started a Tumblr. Shh... don't tell anyone. It's easy to post tiny things there.

But anyways.

Okay, there isn't any literal death going on in our house, but Naomi, my Dad, and my brother are ill. Brother got diagnosed with type A influenza and by all signs my dad and sis have it too. ugh.

This is why I am holed up in my room and taking copious doses of Elderberry.

Yesterday I went in for my two week post op appointment. They took out the stitches and did x-rays and said that everything is looking good. I go back a week from Monday for them to take out the pin and then I'll have physical therapy.

THEN.

They put my hand in a cast. For real.
Never ever trip on an uneven sidewalk. Or if you do, don't use your thumb to break your fall.

So we're just a hot mess right now, but there is a bright side... Things can only look up from here :)

Vacation Rocks!

Hello all my blogger lovelies!

Oh goodness, I'm just having too much fun here at the OBX (that's Outer Banks for the uninitiated) and I had to just share some of the highlights with you.

On Friday I left work around 3, stopped at Sam's Club to buy milk and then drove about 6 hours down to our friend's house in VA where my Dad met me. We slept a few hours and then left my car there and jumped in his truck to make the rest of the trip to NC. As we're driving along - coming towards Richmond Dad asks me if I bought juice at Sam's Club too..... um, no, I wasn't told to. So we pick up the GPS. Turns out Sam's Club is considered a "point of interest" on our GPS. We meander through the suburbs of Richmond, following the friendly lady's voice until we get there. This gives us a nice time to stretch our legs and buy fresh strawberries....mmmmmm..... :D

Then we drove a lot more and got kinda loopy from Dr. Pepper (only the greatest drink ever invented by man) and when we were sorta almost there we stopped at a fruit stand to buy nectarines!

But they were out of nectarines, so we bought a few peaches, but not before I took this giggle-inducing picture.
Those are some strange looking cantaloupe!

Finally, eventually we arrived at our rental "cottage"
They call it a cottage, but this thing is huge.

Relaxed that day until my other sister, Rae, and brother-in-law, Pete, made it with Titus, their cutest puppy evAR!
Isn't he?!

We've wandered on the beach, gone miniature golfing

(At Jurassic Putt!)
and just lounged around reading and sleeping.

There's a hammock right outside my room and I love sitting out there and reading. *sigh*

here's Titus in the hammock.

Sunday night we saw a commercial for IHOP with cream cheesy filling so we decided to make our own. This was the result we had for breakfast Monday morning....
Are you hungry yet?

Today it was pelting rain, but still so nice. It stopped in the afternoon and we decided to build a sandcastle. It's a vacationly tradition. We've done some pretty sweet castles and towns over the years. Last year Naomi and I were hooking the parents on Lost and our sand castle turned into a whole Lost themed thing. If you want to see pictures you can go to the post here.

This year Dad decided to go another direction.
Here's what we did!
See that metal ring? Yup - we built a StarGate!

Why yes, we are huge SciFi geeks, why do you ask?

And then Pete decided to build a Sphinx.
Pretty sweet, huh?

As we're standing there, thousands of seagulls start circling overhead. We're trying to figure out why when we see that some wonderfully idiotic people are standing on their deck holding out food and trying to get the birds to eat out of their hands.

So Naomi and I start coming up with a story - about where they're from (somewhere without seagulls) and why they're so excited to feed the birds and how stupid it is, because um... after you feed seagulls, they poop. Fact of life.

Then I joke that they're from West Virginia (sorry, I spent over half my life in Northern VA where we had WV jokes instead of redneck jokes) But Naomi says that if they were from WV they'd be shooting the birds not feeding them. We decide that is why they're feeding the birds, to draw them in so their husbands can run out with the shotguns. Then we laugh about how we're such writers, finding stories in everything.

Then I wondered if one of them is looking down and making up stories about us. Naomi says, "They're probably looking at us and saying 'look at those cool people. We should write a story about their...awesomeness'" and then we burst out laughing.

Ah... good times.

And to make up for that horribly random story, I give you some beachy pictures:

And I think I am going to do a mini Retail Wednesday post tomorrow - just to let ya know :)

Sisters

You know that song in White Christmas - the one the sisters sing? The one called "Sisters"

Yeah, I always wanted to write my own lyrics to that song for my sisters. Maybe someday I will.

You have no idea what I'm talking about? Let me see if I can find a clip on YouTube...

There we go.

I grew up (still am growing up) in a very close family. Even now as we are all becoming adults and going our separate ways we're all still pretty close and enjoy getting together. I love it. We were all homeschooled and somehow all that time together didn't alienate us from each other :)

I have 2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. There are 15 years between me any my youngest brother and the others are all spread out in between.

I was an only child for 4 1/2 years. When my sister, "Rae", was born and I went to see her in the hospital, the story goes that I looked at her and said, "She's just what I prayed for!"
I know, I know - we are both just so adorable :)

Of course we didn't always get along, but most of the time Rae and I did everything together.
When we were like 3 and 7, our greatest form of entertainment was to take a little tape recorder and make up stories and songs and record ourselves and then play it back and listen to it. I still have some of them. Talk about cheap entertainment. We would even get blank cassette tapes in our stockings at Christmas and it was like the best thing ever.
We played dress up and had tea parties and bickered and made up and shared a room. We played Barbies and My Little Ponies and created outrageous story lines for them. I remember when we used a basket to be an elevator so the Barbies could visit the top bunk. Good times.

After 4 1/2 years of the two of us, Naomi joined our happy little family :)
Why can't I find any of her as a newborn? I know we have them. Oh well.
Here's her first Christmas.

And we all got along pretty well. Maybe I'm looking back with rose-colored glasses, but I remember more times of us having fun together than of us fighting (though I do remember fighting. We're human and sisters after all).

Another Christmas - seriously - all of us in pink footy pajamas? How cute is that?!

Our two brothers came later and I am in no way saying we didn't get along or that they weren't important. I'm just focusing on "sisterhood" right now :)

Even now, Rae, Naomi and I are close. Rae got married almost 3 years ago and she moved away. Still within visiting distance, but not just around the corner. We talk and when we get together we have a great time, but we're just not as close as we used to be. I kind of miss that. I guess it's all part of the growing process. And, as much as we love each other, we have a lot of differing interests. We learn from each other, but we don't share the same things and it just creates a little bit of distance.

When I was in college, Naomi and I started e-mailing each other the MOST ridiculous things. We just kept replying back and forth and would basically free-write whatever happened to come into our heads at the moment we sat down to e-mail. This is what really began our friendship that has blossomed outside of "your my sister so I have to love you and spend time with you". We created so many inside jokes it was ridiculous.

We are also both big readers and writers. We are constantly bouncing ideas, story lines, first drafts, etc. off each other. If one of us is stuck we blather to the other one until we work out the kinks.
We're even co-writing a series of dystopian novellas together (maybe they could be YA, but I think they're even short for that). Don't know for sure if they'll go anywhere, but we have been having a lot of fun collaborating on them.

Besides a lot of shared interests, we also still live in the same house. We see each other almost every day, which makes it easier to stay close. We both cringe at the thought that someday (probably soon) one of us will be moving away. I don't know if we'll be able to stay sane without each other :P

What about you? Do you have a sister? Are you close to her or not so much?

I feel so blessed to have such a good relationship with both of my sisters. And I'm glad for the "S" day to give me a chance to throw all of this out there :)

Kart....

... as in Mario Kart.

We didn't have video games in our house when I was growing up. So our full exposure was when we went to visit my cousin and we played original Mario Brothers (I don't know which system, because I really don't care, but it was the cool Mario Brothers. You know, the classic, but not very first original one? I'm not making any sense? psht.) and Noah's Ark. No one else has ever heard of this Noah's Ark game, but it was the best thing. You had to round up the animals (in pairs of course) and throw them into the ark. The horses were the hardest and you had to throw apples at them to get them to stand still long enough to catch them. Ah, good times.

Sweet muffins! I just found a YouTube video of it!

Then I got my brother an E-bay purchased 64. Then my other brother got a GameCube. And we now have video games in the house. My favorite game of all time is Harvest Moon. I wish it didn't cost like a million dollars to obtain a copy. My favorite group game is Mario Kart. We have spent some fun times zipping around the little tracks and laughing at my sister run off the edge, run into the wall, turn around backwards, blow herself up and in other ways enjoy herself :P

My sister, Rae, and her husband, Pete, showed us this gem of a video a couple of visits ago. It is brilliant and I cannot even begin to imagine the amount of time that went into it.

Enjoy :) And see you tomorrow for Retail Wednesday :D And if you haven't entered my contest yet, get over here and do it (or click on the pic at the top), because owls and notepads are nothing to sneeze at. Unless you're allergic. But who's allergic to notepads? that would just be weird.

Creative Writer Award

So, Palindrome gave me this award a while ago, but I kept forgetting to post it and the follow up list... but late is better than never, amiright?

Now I'm supposed to list 10 things that make me happy... (drumroll please)

1. Reading and Writing. Okay, so maybe this is a gimme, but I spend pretty much all my time doing one or the other. I'll go through phases. When I was trying to finish the rough draft of Unexpected Miracles I read very little. But right now I haven't really written anything (except these blog posts) in probably a month or two. Which makes me feel like a lazy bum. But in that time I've read about 15 books. Now I'm feeling the muse coming on again, so my reading will probably drop off while I write furiously for a couple of weeks. (At least I hope so) So I guess it kind of balances out. The point is, my life just wouldn't be complete without either of these things. So they are definitely #1 on the list of what makes me happy.

2. My family. My sister, AchingHope, is probably my bestest friend. We talk about just about everything in the world and I don't know what I will do when we eventually end up going our separate ways. I get along fantastically with my parents and we hang out and do stuff together as often as our schedules allow. Just last night my Dad and I watched like 4 episodes of X-Files just for fun. I can talk to them about pretty much anything and they are super supportive of me and my dreams. My other sister, Rae, is married, but we're still close and I'm so excited that she and her husband are coming on vacation with us in May! Both of my brothers are insanely talented in similar and different ways. They're both incredible musicians and I love falling to sleep at night to the sound of Dave's organ or Joe's accordion.

3. Pumpkin Custard. My Mom makes this quite often - it's basically pumpkin pie without the crust. I could eat it for every single meal and never get sick of it. She made it yesterday and I think I ate 3 servings of it throughout the day.

4. My blogging friends. That's right, all of you reading this, and some of you who aren't. I have enjoyed "getting to know you" guys through your wondrous posts on your own blogs and through your often hysterical comments here on mine. It's weird to think I have friends from all over the world through this community and I love it. Thanks to all of you who take time to read here. I'm sure you all are as busy as I am, but you take the time to read my random ramblings and it's so cool.

5. Local High School Musicals. I don't know if this is true everywhere (I'm sure it is) but we have some exceptionally talented high school students and teachers that put on really professional, fantastical shows. On Saturday AchingHope and I went to see "Curtains" at one of the local HS and it was phenomenal. There are several more coming up in our area and I am doing my best to go see as many of them as I possibly can. Another local school is doing "Seussical the Musical" and I forget what the other one is that I'm hoping to go see. But FUN!

6. Crocheting. A recent skill I've been developing. Haven't done much since I finished AchingHope's blanket, but I love the feel of the yarn between my fingers and seeing something cohesive come out of a few twists of the wrist and hook. Amazing.

7. Old Cartoon Movies. You know, like Anastasia and An American Tale and Land Before Time (The original ONLY) and Cinderella. They just don't make movies like this anymore. there is something about movies made before they really had computer help that just have an almost, I don't know, purer quality about them. There's an honesty to some of them that is missing in a lot of current animated features. It's like now a lot of the focus is on - wow, look how amazing this effect is - and less emphasis on the storyline and the building of the characters. It's not universally true on either end, but there's just something that's been lost. Okay, rant over.

8. In a similar vein - Older TV shows. I love things like The Cosby Show, Family Matters, Get Smart, Home Improvement, M.A.S.H. and older cartoons like Darkwing Duck, Gummi Bears, Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, and a bunch of others that aren't coming to mind right now. There is definitely no current TV like these older sitcoms and cartoons especially.

9. Playing Wii with my friends. There are a couple girls from work. We're all about the same age and every so often we try to get together for a Wii date. We grab some Italian food and then spend the afternoon burning off the calories. It's so much fun to hang out while playing it.

10. Patterned Socks. I really like getting socks that have something fun on them. like lizards or ladybugs or crazy argyle patterns or Christmas trees or dogs or cherries. Yeah for fun socks!

All right, so there is my list.

I am realizing that I need to expand my list of blogs I troll, 'cause I think most of the ones I follow have already gotten this award. but I will pass it on to....

Game Night

I recently picked up a game called Quad*Doku. It's kind of a cross between Boggle, Scrabble and Sudoku and it looked like the kind of game that my mom and my sisters and I would have fun with.

So with the snow today, my Mom, sister (AchingHope) and I pulled it out to play for the first time.
You make four four letter words that connect at the corners and then different letters have different numbers which, ideally, should add up to 10. We decided not to play by numbers because we didn't want to keep score, so we just made words. Which is a lot harder than you would think.

My Mom LOVES word games. She does crossword puzzles and things all the time, and is a complete monster at Boggle. So while we were playing, she kept shouting things out at us, telling us what we "could" do if we wanted. Finally we enacted a gag rule. This is the rule - "Mom cannot speak if it is not her turn".

Pretty simple right :)

As we got toward the end it got tougher and tougher to do, because your pool of available letters is much smaller. It was AchingHope's turn and she couldn't quite figure out what to do. Mom starts to say something, but then stops herself. AchingHope and I are staring at the board when I glance up and see an alarming sight.

Mom's face is bright red and somehow growing round. It looks like a cherry tomato. Both hands are clamped over her mouth and I can practically see the letters fighting to escape her lips.

I think it's the closest I've ever come to seeing someone spontaneously combust.

AchingHope sees and is just as alarmed, so she says, "Tell me! You're gonna explode!" But Mom shakes her head, determined to be good.

"You can help if you're asked," I say. "She asked. It's okay."

"She doesn't mean it," Mom mumbles behind her fingers, which sets us all of into a fresh set of giggles.

Finally we convince her to speak and her head returns to its normal size and color. Crisis averted.

As we get to the very end we now only have a handful of letters left - 1 or 2 random consonants and a ton of vowels. So AchingHope decides to just finish it off by creating verification words... :)

One of the last ones she stacks is FAFE.

So I say, "I will eat your fafe off!"

Which sounds completely ridiculous if you say it fast and growly like. That sets us all off again and we spend the next five minutes growling, "I will eat your fafe off!" to each other.

Ahhhhhh..... game night. Gotta love it :D

My Adorable Nephew

We had a really nice Christmas. My sister "Rae" and her husband "Pete" came to visit bringing my adorable nephew. He's pictured here wearing his favorite Christmas sweater.

Yes, that is his actual picture and no, you don't need new glasses. Okay, so technically he's not my nephew, but he's the closest thing I have and I love him to pieces. His name is Titus and he has the sweetest temperament and the greatest personality. Smart as anything too. No I'm not biased. What are you talking about?

About a month before Christmas Rae bought him the above sweater as a Christmas present, but when she got home she tried it on him to make sure it fit. It did, so she tucked it into the bottom of the bag where she keeps his treats and travel toys, etc.
The next day when she got home Titus was waiting for her in the living room with the sweater, pleading at her with puppy dog eyes to put it on. She said no, of course. After all it was his Christmas present and went to put it back in the bag. He had ignored the toys and the treats and dug the sweater out leaving everything else intact. She tucked it back in the bottom, put everything else on top and proceeded to start dinner.
A few minutes later he padded into the kitchen bearing the sweater and dropped it at her feet. At which point she caved (I know, she's a terrible mother :P). But honestly, he just loved it so much, how could you possibly resist a face like that?

So he was wearing it for Christmas as we all gathered to open presents. Last year Titus was excited about everything but this year he had it all figured out. There were goodies inside those wrapped packages and you just had to get through the paper to find the treats. Which he did quite adeptly as seen in this lovely video. (the music is Can't Believe It's Christmas from A Very Veggie Christmas. [I love Veggie Tales])

He so carefully pulls out the toys and doesn't eat the paper or anything. How adorable is that? The answer is VERY :)

Once he gets a toy, Titus' first mission is to make sure it is actually dead by de-stuffing it. The green thing I got him was called an "Unstuffable" meaning it had no stuffing. At least, the body didn't. Turned out the head had quite a bit..... (the music here is Christmasville Fanfare by Manheim Steamroller [love them too])

He is just cuter than a bug's ear. What a fun addition to our Christmas celebration. Of course, I can't wait for real nieces and nephews, but I'm telling you, Titus makes a great stand in until that happens.

Year of the Curséd Turkey

We like turkey. It tastes good :) (If you are an animal rights activist or a vegan, you may not want to read any further. Of course, after that opening line, you're probably leaving of your own accord.)
Every year my Dad cooks an absolutely delectable turkey with the best stuffing you have ever tasted. Seriously.
This year the turkeys decided to indulge in a little turkey-style revenge.

(This guy looks REALLY angry. I would never eat you. Honest. I promise! Please, stop staring!!!)

We had a turkey in the freezer, so my Dad decided we didn't need to buy our usual 30 pounder, but would settle for the 22 lb one that we already had.

The turkey sat, wrapped in its celophane jacket, slowly defrosting for our consumption pleasure. We had no idea what horrors lurked underneath.

Dad snipped open the wrapper and we discovered that the plastic was the only thing holding the bird together. The one leg swung wildly down out of its socket, pulling all of the skin away from the meat. Dad tried to pick it up and found that the backbone was broken as was the breastbone.
We managed to get it into a somewhat turkey looking shape and even managed to stuff it, though it took more nails and string than normal to hold it all together. It was looking pretty good. It had us fooled.

My Dad is one of those, slow-cook-the-turkey-all-night-long kind of guys and his turkeys always come out tender and juicy. The only downside for him is that he has to get up throughout the night to baste it. That's never been a problem before.

At about 7:30 I was abruptly awakened from slumber by a loud noise and a yelp. My body was instantly awake. However, my brain took several moments to process everything. This is how it went.

What was that?

It's 7:30.

Dad's probably basting the turkey.

That was a loud noise.

He doesn't yelp like that.

HE DROPPED THE TURKEY!!!!!

I bolted out of bed and ran upstairs.

Because of the mishapen state of our turkey we had to put it into a different pan than usual. Instead of foil, it has a metal lid. Dad pulled out the turkey and basted it, but when he tried to slide it back into the oven, the lid caught and tipped everything toward him.

The lid fell off onto the floor, neatly catching some of the juices and Dad caught the turkey and flipped it back into the pan, saving it and the stuffing. However, he got splattered with the boiling grease, which wasn't very fun.

Then we had the fun of mopping stuffing and grease off of the linoleum. But wait! There's more!

As the pan tipped, it dumped a lot of the juices and grease onto the stove door where it trickled down inside the door. When we closed the oven it rained down into the drawer under the stove onto the pots and pans stored there. So after mopping the kitchen, we then got to wash every single pan we own, including those fun broiler pans with all of the ridges and holes. Then there's the enjoyment of finding somewhere to store them while we clean grease and stuffing out of the bottom of the drawer and wait for it to dry.

Of course, now the greases are in the door itself, so we have to pull the door off the oven, take it outside, disassemble it, clean it, reassemble it and put it back onto the oven so we could cook the rest of dinner. Fortunately we have a little side oven that was not affected by the turkey disaster, so we were able to get a jump start on the few things that would fit in there.

Did this deter us from enjoying our Thanksgiving repast? Not a whit!

Mmmmm. Turkey. You may fight back, but we will eat you anyway. Just don't try anything next year.

(Can I come over to your house for Thanksgiving?)

Car Conversations

We just took a quick mini vacation to visit some friends in Virginia. More on that later if I feel like it :P Here is a brief look at the conversations we had while leaving our house at 4am...

Dad: How do you tell how many points a buck has? Is it total? Or just on one side?
Dave: It's 1/2 divided by 4 + 3.

Dave: Oh no! I forgot to take Bonine (like Dramamine, but like, a trillion times better [and no, they don't pay me to say that])! What if I dream that I'm reading?!
Dad: Dream that you took Bonine.

Conversations

These are the kinds of conversations that my family has. All the time.

AchingHope: Oh look! They have their Christmas Flakes up!

Me: Their what?!
AH: Christmas Flakes. What else would you call them?
Me: Ummmm..... Snow Flakes?
AH: Pssshhhttt! Why would you call them that.
Me: Maybe because their flakes ... made out of snow.
AH: Shut up.

Organ-ized Internet Searching

My brothers both love music. My older younger brother, "Joe", is in a band that is slowly gaining a hearing in the area. They've gotten a chance to do open mikes, hold some cheap group concerts and have been invited to play at some local places.

My younger younger brother, "Dave", is also in a band with some of his friends.

Between the two of them we never know what instruments are going to be coming into the house next... A bass, a harmonica (actually several in different keys), a keyboard, a trombone, an accordion, a sax - you name it, we'll probably be getting it or already have it.

So "Dave" decided that if he rearranged his room, got rid of the wardrobe and moved his dresser, he would have room for, yes, an organ.

So he's spent the last several days looking for one online.

Mom, Dad, my sister and I were watching StarGate Atlantis (woot!) and Dave was trying to find an organ. He pops his head in the room. "We're going to West Virginia sometime soon, right?" Um no. So apparently someone in the mountains of West Virginia, where there is one road and fewer houses, is selling an organ for $25 if you'll come pick it up. Yeah right.

He comes back a few minutes later. "Someone's giving away a hospital bed that moves up and down! (imitates bed movements)"

Back a few minutes later. "There's a church about 45 minutes away that got a new organ and so they're giving away their old one!"

Enter my evil pun brain..... "So would they be considered an organ donor?"

Bathroom Humor

this has nothing whatsoever to do with anything tv, movie or Lost, but I shall share anyhoo.

This story happened a couple of years ago, but my Dad brought it up today, so I thought it would be funny to share.

I was getting ready for work one lazy Friday morning. I went into the bathroom to, well, you know, and brush my teeth and stuff and when I went to open the door it wouldn't.

I hadn't locked it (in fact, I don't think anyone ever locks it). But it would not open. It just wouldn't.

Everyone was just getting up, so they heard my cries for help quite quickly.

Dad decides that we are going to have to take the doorknob off. We do. There is now a hole where the doorknob used to be. Still the door will not open - for no apparent reason.

At this point I am laughing almost helplessly. My sister is talking about how they can at least pass food through the hole and I have all the water I could need.

The only recourse is to take the door off its hinges. The hinges are, of course, on the INSIDE of the door. So pliers and screwdriver get passed through the hole to me.

Also of course, the hinges are painted closed. I must bang on them with the screwdriver and pliers for a while.

Eventually I pull the pins out. But the paint is still holding the door onto the hinges. I have to step into the shower so that Dad can pound the door down.

That was an interesting day.

Julius Caesar Salad and Hamlettuce

Over on Nikki's blog Batcabbage, Blam and I have been having a grand old time with puns. It started innocently enough and I doubt that Nikki ever anticipated how far we would all run with it. So I mentioned to my family that I was trying to come up with some vegetable puns. So my wonderful father said I could always run with okra - you know, like someone going on the Okra show. Or, Kale to the chief. ::groan::
Then he went out to mow the lawn with that idea in his head and this is the tale he related to us when he came back inside. Get ready for some truly terrible puns.......

Ferns, Romaines, countrymen, lend me your ears!

The ears have been taken by Colonel Corn Wallace.

We need to retrieve them.

Who was that?

General Cabbage, head of the German brigade.

He doesn't look very happy.

He's a bit of a Saurkraut.

What does he have to be unhappy about? I heard he was running away to be married.

He cantaloupe. His sweet pea wants him to work in her father's factory.

The chicken factory outside of town?

Yes, the eggplant.

We could send spies from the purple underground.

How many should we send?

Two beets or not two beets? That is the question.

How many vegetable puns can you squash into one story?

Not enough :)

Lost in sand

This week I'm on vacation with my family at the Outer Banks. Every year we make a big sandcastle. This was this year's....

However, this year my sister and I got my parents hooked on Lost. We're almost done with the 3rd season and we've watched about 10 episodes in 3 days. So when we were down at the beach my sister and I started making Lost sand sculptures and my parents joined in. Theses are most definitely not to scale or in any kind of order. And really not supposed to be accurate, just fun. After all, how accurate can you be with sand :)

It all started when my sister started to dig a well. This one didn't come out as well, but if you look closely, there's a white spot at the bottom that's supposed to be Locke's head from when he fell down the well.

This is the beach and the dock where Sawyer, Kate, Jack and Hurley were tied up and had bags over their heads.

This is my representation of the temple that you only see for like 4 seconds total

This is the four toed statue. The leg kept collapsing, so it only has an ankle.
This is the hatch before it im/exploded. This is right after they blew it open and the hatch door is off the hole on the top left and there's the little log that they used to walk across to the hatch.
This is the Black Rock. hahahaha. My sister found it and we couldn't resist. :)
And this is my personal favorite. This one my Dad built. This is the mountain with the vines, the drug plane that crashed with the hatch underneath it. This is after Boone falls down and dies.

If you look closely you can see the hatch doors under the plane.

So that's pretty much it. We had fun and I thought other Losties would enjoy. :)
