Tell the Truth Tuesday: Things I've Learned

1. It is a bad idea to listen to the last disc of Bridge to Terabithia while driving to work and right after applying mascara.
2. There is nothing wrong with my tear ducts.

3. Years of watching sci fi has affected my brain. As soon as I heard the premise for Terra Nova I started trying to figure out how they could avoid destroying the time/space continuum. Dad and I decided that they must have slipped into an alternate dimension, which actually satisfied our desire for logic. Immediately after we decided this, the show went on to explain that this was exactly what had happened.
4. I have no problem with people going back in time as long as they move to another dimension so as to not disturb the space/time continuum.
5. I become addicted to Twitter when I have a stack of papers to grade. This both distracts me and has the added bonus of making me sound like a total whiner for several days.

6. I was way too concerned that my class schedule would interfere with the tv shows I want to watch this fall. They don't and I'm absurdly happy.

So how about you? Any truths to share this week?

The word "truths" in your last sentence instantly zapped my brain into the world of Buffy, because tonight in Nikki's Buffy rewatch we'll be discussing "Once More, With Feeling". I've already written up my initial comments on it, with much emphasis on the fact that it wasn't just about making people sing and dance, but about making them be HONEST, and reveal hidden truths. Good stuff.

Ooh! Marebabe, I'm actually listening to the soundtrack for Once More With Feeling. I think it's such a brilliant episode! I'll have to try to stop in today! I think that's so true. It was about making them honest and the fallout from that episode affected the entire rest of the series in such a dramatic way. I love that it wasn't a "throwaway" episode like so many musical ones are :)

LOL that Twitter poster is awesome! I'm a fan, too. Do we follow each other there? I'll click on your twitter bird and make sure!

Bridge to Taribithia is a beautiful book. Wish YA was written like this now, but I haven't found too many to compare to it. (I love when a book makes me cry)

Ah, I hate the Cry After Makeup! Did you do the whole roll-your-eyes-up-and-fan-the-tears-away-with-your-hands trick?

I don't understand Twitter, the whole # thing. What is that about? You just make up a saying after you say something and follow it with a hashtag? Doesn'tgetit#

JOAN! Long time no see :D

Twitter is awesomesauce. And you don't even have to use hashtags if you don't want to ;) #itsOK
